Straight dimension

Draws a dimension that measures only across or only up and down between two points, whichever way you pull it.

When you want the board's width or height, or the distance between holes along one axis.

Not the slanted distance between the points, which Aligned dimension gives, and KiCad calls this Draw Orthogonal Dimensions.
